Delta named Top Corporation for Women Business Enterprises

Supplier Diversity Award acceptance

Delta was recently honored as a Top Corporation for Women Business Enterprises – fittingly, as the U.S. celebrates Women’s History Month.

The honor was given by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, the largest and most influential organization for women-owned businesses, and a key partner in Delta’s supplier diversity efforts.

WBENC said the award recognizes corporate partners that demonstrate the highest commitment to providing opportunities for women-owned suppliers. The award takes into account the company’s annual spending with women-owned businesses, the engagement of the company’s senior leaders and the strength of the company’s Supplier Diversity program.

Delta’s team attending the WBENC conference and awards ceremony in Dallas included Tom Shortt, V.P. – Supply Chain Management; Bob Currey, Managing Director – Supply Chain Management; Karmetria Burton, General Manager – Supplier Diversity; Kimberly Coffman, Manager – Supplier Diversity; and Sandra Duckworth, Program Coordinator – Supplier Diversity.

More than 300 women-owned businesses transact more than $700 million a year in business with Delta, providing IT services, staffing and professional services, food and supplies for flights and Delta Sky Clubs, and more, making up the company’s largest Supplier Diversity category.
