Air Europa and CFM International are celebrating the 30th anniversary of a very successful relationship that began in 1986 when the airline launched passenger service with CFM56-3-powered Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

“We truly value the partnership we have built with CFM,” said Juan José Hidalgo, chairman and CEO of Air Europa.  “The reliability of the CFM56 engines in our fleet has been a big factor in our ongoing success, all back by the highest levels of quality and world-class support.”

Air Europa, headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, currently operates a fleet of 22 CFM56-7B-powered Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.  In July of this year, the airline announced an order for LEAP-1B engines to power 20 new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

“We have a tremendous relationship with Air Europa that has been 30 years in the making,” said Cédric Goubet, executive vice president of Commercial Engines for CFM parent company Safran Aircraft Engines. “We are honored that they have continued to entrust their fleet to CFM, and we look forward to many more years of being part of this dynamic team.”
