This week Jet2holidays is celebrating five years since its launch, which has seen the package holiday specialist increase passenger numbers by a remarkable 500 per cent from 34,000 passengers in its first year to over 200,000 in 2011.Jet2holidays expects to achieve the half a million customer booking landmark in May this year.
Jet2.com announced the launch of Jet2holidays in February 2007 with three destinations – Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands. In five years it has grown significantly to become one of the country’s leading package holiday specialists offering thousands of hotels in over 40 of Europe’s most exciting destinations and employing over 85 staff. In addition to the ever popular sunshine resorts it has extended its portfolio to offer a diverse range of city breaks including traditional favourites such as Paris and Rome, plus those rising in popularity including Berlin, Budapest and Istanbul.
The holiday specialist is showing no sign of slowing down having reported a 146 per cent revenue increase from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, Jet2holidays launched its first ever five star luxury offering – Indulgent Escapes. It also grew its popular family packages with the ‘Experience More’ range of hotels, offering access to top attractions to give families even greater value in the current climate.
Jet2holidays’ continued rise to success was cemented last November with its award for ‘Best Tour Operator to the Iberian Peninsula and Islands’ at the 2011 British Travel awards and ‘Best Mainstream Short Haul Tour Operator’ at the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) Annual Travel Awards.
Jet2holidays is constantly listening to customers through research and focus groups and subsequently reviews its product range and responds to trends to offer great value package holidays to the destinations customers want to visit. This year is set to see the holiday specialist continue its growth – along with five new destinations, expansion for the summer 2012 product range is planned with a significant increase in the number of beach hotels on offer.
