Airline also adds more flights between Charlotte, N.C. and New York‘s John F. Kennedy International Airport; Philadelphia and Dallas/Fort Worth.

 

Today US Airways (NYSE: LCC) begins new daily, non-stop service from the airline’s international gateway of Philadelphia International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport. Customers in two of the largest cities in the Lone Star State will benefit from more convenient access to destinations throughout the East Coast, Canada and Europe as a result of the new flights.

 

“We’re pleased to offer travelers convenient non-stop service between our international gateway at PhiladelphiaInternational Airport and two of the top destinations in Texas,” said Bob Ciminelli, US Airways’ vice president,Philadelphia hub. “The new flights will not only provide customers in the Lone Star State with access to historicPhiladelphia, but also with one-stop service to numerous international and domestic destinations via our easy to navigate northeast hub.”

 

“We are pleased that travelers in the Philadelphia region now have convenient, non-stop flights to Austin and San Antonio,” said Rina Cutler, Philadelphia Deputy Mayor, Transportation and Utilities. “We are proud of our partnership with US Airways and look forward to additional new flights to new cities.”

 

US Airways will operate service from Philadelphia to Austin and San Antonio on 99-passenger, dual-class Embraer 190 aircraft.

 

Today the airline also launched a sixth daily flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Philadelphiaand a fourth and fifth daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and its Charlotte, N.C.hub.

 

US Airways will operate its new frequency between Charlotte and John F. Kennedy International Airport on 124-passenger, dual-class Airbus A319 aircraft and on 150-passenger, dual-class Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline will operate its new flights from Philadelphia to Dallas/Fort Worth aboard 150-passenger, dual-class Airbus A320 aircraft.
