New Lufhansa cabin look. Note the new seat design, coat hooks and a new blue moveable divider curtain 🙂 I like it, seats are very comfortable although they look thin (from the side). My first experience with Lufthansa was great 😉 Nice and friendly cabin crew! (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

SR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network, has
signed its second VIP aircraft contract with an undisclosed Middle Eastern customer. Under the
agreement, which was secured as a result of the on-time delivery and quality performance on the first
VIP project, the aircraft will receive a full cabin refresh and refurbishment to bring it back to an “as new”
condition. In addition, a number of complex system modifications, In-flight Entertainment (IFE) system
upgrades and a concurrent heavy maintenance C-Check are planned.
As part of the cabin refresh and refurbishment, multiple materials will be exchanged, following the
existing design guidelines and color schemes currently used on the aircraft. This will include new
carpeting and flooring as well as the reupholstering of seats to bring a luxurious state-of-the-art look,
touch and feel to the interior. Drawing on the expertise of SR Technics VIP cabinetry team, new
furniture and cabinets will be added and hand-crafted to improve and optimize in-flight cabin space and
functionality, using VVIP standards and finishes. In addition, minor cabin reconfiguration will take place
to better suit the customers’ changing operational needs.
Behind the scenes, a full systems modification will be performed, including an upgrade of the satellite
communications system with an on-board GSM installation. At the same time, the IFE system will be
enhanced, replacing current equipment with industry leading, innovative technologies and highdefinition monitors.
“This second contract has been signed in direct response to the quality, intuitive interior design, superb
engineering performance and the on-time-delivery of our first VIP aircraft. We are delighted to be
building a solid reputation in the industry as a reliable, knowledgeable and trusted partner,” comments
André Wall, President at SR Technics. “We relish the opportunity to further showcase our expertise in
the VIP arena by returning a timeworn aircraft into one with a state-of-the-art, elegant and comfortable
interior.”
“Our underlying aim and passion is to listen to our customers and really get to understand their lifestyle,
business and aviation needs to create an aircraft interior that truly reflects and supports personal and
operational needs. Customer feedback during the design phase of this project demonstrates this, where
our experienced interior design and engineering teams came together to intertwine the new technology
requirements with luxurious finishes and realize our customer’s vision,” says Eric Jan, Head of VIP
Interior Design.
