Belgian Travel Magazine Awards
TAP has been rated by Belgian tourism professionals as the third best airline operating medium-haul flights to the country.
The distinction was awarded as part of the 14th Travel Awards competition organised by Travel Magazine, the most important Belgian travel journal, with TAP receiving third prize (in a tie with SAS) in the category of “Best Medium-Haul Airline 2011.” Only Belgian airlines collected more votes in this category than TAP, which is significant taking into consideration that only tourism professionals from Belgium were eligible to vote.
For Araci Coimbra, TAP representative in Belgium and Luxembourg, this award is “clear evidence of TAP’s excellent work in developing this market and of our success in increasing the reputation of the company and the perception of the service quality that we offer our passengers.”
This important international recognition for TAP follows on from the company having been honoured with the “Best Airline in Europe” award by Global Traveler Magazine, thus consolidating the quality image of TAP Portugal in more competitive international markets, with an emphasis on its European network.
TAP currently operates four daily flights between Lisbon and Brussels and one daily flight between Porto and Brussels. From January to November 2011 TAP transported 269,000 passengers between Portugal and Belgium, which represented a growth of 15.7% over the same period of the previous year.
